Tom and Norris have had a fantastic week in the sunshine at Kentucky Horse Parks 5* three day event. A lovely dressage score of 25.1 but the pair in third place after the first phase. The duo tackled the challenging cross-country and showjumping phases to finish in 5th. Yet another top placing for a Brookfield horse - Quality by name, quality by nature!

Tom and Brookfield Quality Take 5th Place in Kentucky

Sunny march means the start of the 2026 event season, and what a great start it's been! The debut event for team Mcewen was Poplar Park. All the horses put on great performances, with JL Dublin and Brookfield In The Spotlight taking the wins in their sections. Brookfield Quality and Brookfield Danny De Muse  each finished second. Most importantly, all the horses put in confident and steady double clears, feeling ready to tackle the rest of the season! Next up was the gorgeous Tweseldown. All the horses had top three finishes, with Brookfield In The Spotlight taking the win yet again in the Novice, what a horse! Bring on the rest of the season!

JL Dublin was phenomenal this weekend in Paris, to help win Eventing Team Gold alongside team mates Laura Collett on London 52, Ros Canter on Lordships Graffalo and Yasmin Ingham on Banzai du Loir.

Tom and Dubs finished the dressage on day 1 with a score of 25.8, which left them just outside the top ten. 

A fantastic clear cross country round moved them into 6th place ahead of the final day's showjumping.

A classy clear round in the showjumping moved them up to finish in 4th place individually, helping secure Team Gold.

Tom and JL Dublin announced as part of the Paris Olympics Squad

I’m immensely proud of Dubs this week. 
It might not have been the ending we hoped for but still an incredible result. He’s one hell of a special horse. 

Dubs performed an incredible dressage test on Friday to finish on a score of 24.6 and backed that up with a clear cross country round on Saturday, with just 4 time faults, but still remaining in the lead.

An unfortunate pole in the showjumping moved us to 2nd place overall.

A huge thank you to Adam Short for all the care you give Dubs, not just at the events but at home too. 🙌🏽

Thank you to everyone’s messages of support, it’s hugely appreciated.

It was a night to remember at the Horse and Hound Awards Ball for Tom where he was announced as the winner of the Uvex Helmets Professional Rider of the Year.

The black tie event was held at Cheltenham Racecourse, with H&H Editor-in-Chief Sarah Jenkins commenting: “Huge congratulations to all of our extremely worthy winners, and all who were shortlisted in what have become such competitive award categories.

“It is fantastic to see greatness in equestrianism recognised in the way these awards manage to achieve each year, and wonderful that Horse & Hound’s readers and followers feel passionately enough about these individuals’ contribution to the horse world that they vote in such incredible numbers for their heroes. We felt very fortunate to be able to hold our awards ceremony in what are still very challenging times, and it was wonderful to see so many in the industry turnout to celebrate and support these awards and those who were shortlisted. Congratulations to all!”

Jumping Clinic with Tom at Rectory Farm - update 20/12/2021 - Bookings now closed

Tom has been recognised with an MBE in the New Years Honours List.

Alongside Laura Collett and Oliver Townend, the trio took Olympic gold in Tokyo for the first time since 1972 with a record-breaking low score and all riders and horses being Olympic debutantes. 

Tom and Toledo de Kerser, owned by Fred and Penny Barker, Jane Inns and Ali McEwen, were faultless in the two show jumping rounds to secure the team gold and individual silver medals.

We took 5 horses to Houghton International this weekend and all of them showed their incredible talent.

Bob Chaplin was a star in all three phases to take the win in the CCI-S O4*, also helping secure a win for the Nations Cup Team.

Luna Mist continued to impress in the CCI-L 3*, with a super score of 26.2 in the dressage, and then jumping a classy double clear to finish 3rd.

Falaise De Riverland was brilliantin the CCI-L 2* with a great double clear to finish on her dressage score of 28. There's lots to look forward to with this very talented 7 yr old. 

Dream Big and Braveheart B both had a rail showjumping, leaving them out of contention in the CCI-S O4*.


A great weekend at Houghton International

Our team have all had a good rest over the winter months, and we’ve had a chance to reflect on the 2022 season. Our fantastic team of horses notched up over 50 top 5 finishes, and that could not have been achieved without the incredible support from our team at home and our wonderful owners and sponsors.

There are plenty of highlights to choose from, but the Aachen Nations Cup win with Toledo, and Luna Mist taking the 4* win at Blair Castle really do stand out.

We’ve got an exciting season ahead of us, starting at Poplar Park in March .

We’re also really looking forward to getting a couple of new members to the stable out for their first runs.

As mentioned, this is truly a team effort, and thanks to my great team of staff, owners and sponsors, we are fit and ready to crack on with the year ahead.

Tom and JL Dublin had an incredible time at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event riding Nicola Wilson’s former ride JL Dublin, owned by Jo and James Lambert and Deirdre Johnston.

Their final score of 27.8  resulted in second place behind America’s Tamie Smith.

We headed off to the Royal International Horse Show today, having received an invite to jump in
The Ashby Underwriting Eventers Challenge in the the Hickstead International Arena. 

MHS Brown Jack had a great round, with just a couple of unlucky faults, but it was a superb and very fun experience for us both.

Tom and Brookfield Quality are on the way home following a super successful week at the famous Kentucky 3 day event. Brookfield Quality is looking strong in all elements.Tom says "He's finished feeling well, fit and fresh, and we've got a really cool five-star horse to add, so it's very exciting"

Adding to his success so far this season, Tom and JL Dublin made their mark at the MARs Badminton Horse Trials. They started the week with their lowest dressage score to date, and went on to have fantastic rounds in both the cross-country and showjumping phases. What a pair!!

The first show of the year is off to a great start! All the horses jumped fantastically. JL Candy Mac and Class Romance took some wins, but the star of the show was Kilcannon Mischief, who soared into first in the 1.40m Grand Prix. Bring on 2026!!
